Dear Ema,

Yesterday was your 7^th birthday!  It amazes me that my little girl is now a 1^st grader.  How did that happen so fast? You are such a joy to our family.  You have a tender, sweet personality and yet, you LOVE to laugh and have fun!  Your dad and I are often amazed by your thoughtfulness.  Just last week you spent all your money at the “country store” buying gifts for other people and came home with only a small pencil sharpener for yourself.  I don’t know many other kids your age that would do that.

You love animals, art, music and family and anything that is related to those four things.  You are always drawing pictures, inventing games, or thinking of creative ideas.  Your brain never turns off (you get that from your dad)!!  You have many friends at school and your teacher tells us you are her “top student”. (You totally get that from your mom)

We are so proud of you and we’re grateful you love school and learning.  Last week I tried to get you to stay home from school and hang out with me, but you quickly told me that you wanted to go to school.

You are a great big sister and a great daughter.  We love having you in our family.


A few fun facts about the first 7 years of your life:

• You have lived in 7 different houses.
• You don't know what life was like before internet, ipods, CD's, DVD's or Cable TV shows!
• You have always been able to pause your television and your t.v's have always had remotes
• You have had only one pet - (although you’re looking forward to the day when you will get another)
• You have been on an airplane only once.
• Your parents love you infinity (plus one).

Thank you for being such an example to me.  You are such a joy to be around and you are one of my best friends.  I hope that you always enjoying hanging out with your family and you always remember how much we love you.
